Little Tree and the Pandemic

Unlike many amazing creatives who found their voice during the Covid19 lockdown, I got pretty quiet. After years of working with Marsha Lane Foster, my incredibly talented friend and therapeutic partner in the MyUnraveling project, I found myself with precious little to say.

Like so many, I found myself utterly and painfully alone. As I sat in my little house on the bluff, I would stare mindlessly out at the lake below and strangely began to connect with a little tree, standing all alone in the water.

I am currently working to regain my focus on writing in this “post-pandemic” world as I continue to battle trichotillomania through imagery and the written word. While I fight and write, I will share some observations of Little Tree and me as a virus locked the door on humanity. She held my hand and walked me through my solitude, and I’m excited to share how a little tree kept me sane.
